Employers face resignations over health concerns
More than half of employees would consider quitting if their health concerns were not addressed by their employer, a new survey has revealed.
This will highlight the importance of responding to problems, such as sales jobs stress, or offering private medical care as part of an employee benefits package.
According to research commissioned by the Business in the Community (BITC), 83 per cent of employees considered their employer's attitude to health an important factor when making a decision about their job.
Stephen Howard, chief executive of BITC, claims that employee health needs have become "more important than ever to retain staff".
He said: "Our research clearly shows that workplace welfare is an emerging weapon in the battle for talent.
"Although many companies are already taking action on their health and wellbeing record, those that aren't need to take action fast."
Mr Howard also added that this was a problem affecting multinationals as much as small businesses, warning that many "need to take action fast".
