Are sales jobs too stressful?

Many UK workers, potentially including those involved in sales jobs, are finding their employment stressful and unfulfilling, it has been suggested.

According to actress Samantha Morton, many people feel in competition with each other and under pressure to have the right material possessions, such as a decent car, home and clothes.

She stated: "I think a lot of people do want to do something different but they feel they can't, because of what society requests from us."

Meanwhile, figures produced by the Vodafone Group Foundation suggest that only 63 per cent of workers are fulfilled by their jobs.

Andrew Dunnett, director of the foundation - which is running a World of Difference campaign that offers four people the chance to do charity work abroad for a year - added there are many people who just want to have the money to take time out and recognise new opportunities.
