Workers 'consider underhand tactics for promotion'

Britons are willing to romance their bosses in order to work their way up the career ladder, it has been revealed.

Research carried out by HireScores.com found 18 per cent of workers would go as far as sleeping with their manager rather than work hard for their promotion, while 26 per cent claim they would be happy to kiss their boss and 17 per cent said they would consider it if the money was right.

The findings also indicated 39 per cent of Brits would choose working hard, with long hours and no guarantee of a promotion or pay rise in order to improve their careers.

Lisette Howlett, managing director of the group, commented: "Working your way up the career ladder can seem like a daunting task but with ambition and dedication, impressing your manager can come naturally, without the need for underhand tactics."

Last week, recruitment company Monster suggested that office romances are an accepted part of working life.
