The group went on to say that it expects similar growth in the US following the inauguration of president Barack Obama.

Managing director at the company Andy Cartland commented: "We are aware that expansion holds risks amid a downturn of this scale. However we believe that there are many forces acting in our favour - particularly green legislation and a demand from consumers for ethical products."

Research carried out by employment website Monster earlier this week indicated one in ten workers believe they are currently in their perfect job, while 14 per cent do not think that their perfect role exists and 76 per cent said they hope their ideal post is available somewhere.
