Phone interviews need rigorous preparation

Initial phone interviews should not be underestimated and need to be prepared for in order for applicants to move on in an application process, according to one expert.

Tips for getting through phone interviews for positions such as sales jobs were provided by Joyce Lain Kennedy, who wrote for the Tribune Media Services about her experiences.

Getting yourself in a room with interview essentials such as a CV, a list of accomplishments and details of the company which you are applying to is an ideal way to set-up for the call.

The writer stated: "Prepare rigorously. If the call takes you by surprise, say you have to leave immediately for an appointment and pleasantly ask if you can you schedule a time to talk, perhaps later today or tomorrow."

She added that delaying the interview if you are not prepared will allow you to get ready for the call and perform at your best.

In other news, women wanting to make the right impression at a job interview need the right haircut, according to celebrity hairstylist Wendy Iles.
