Survey: Honesty reigns in sales jobs

Around 90 per cent of UK workers said they would not take credit for the work of their colleagues with three-quarters saying that they like to succeed based on their own merit, according to new figures.

People applying for sales jobs maybe interested in the poll by Monster which asked more than 1,900 workers across the UK if they had ever taken credit for someone else's work.

Around 15 per cent of respondents said they have been tempted and seven per cent admitted to frequently taking plaudits for other people's hard work.

Julian Acquari, managing director at Monster UK, said: "Colleagues have a huge impact on people's job satisfaction, work environment and potentially how their career develops."

He added that without trust and honesty a work place can quickly become difficult to work in.

An eye for detail is also important for sales jobs applicants, according to the accounting and finance firm Accountemps, which said that more than 75 per cent of employers would rule out candidates who made two mistakes on their CV.
