Way of dealing with withdrawn sales job 'essential'
People who have been told they have been accepted for a sales vacancy but have had their sales job revoked before they were due to start should handle the situation professionally, an expert asserts.
Careerbuilder.com claims that the key step is for an applicant to find out why the offer was withdrawn.
It advises asking whether the decision was based on an economic factor or whether there was an issue with the references.
Jim Luzar, an industry expert, tells the news provider that the way an applicant reacts to this could determine whether the offer is reissued.
He states: "Be open and honest with [the employer] about your situation. If you are still interested in the job, let them know your finances. Can you wait six months to start?"
Mr Luzar suggests that another step could be to tell the company that you will be able to earn money in the meantime, but you are interested in a fulltime position when this opens up.
The Guardian recently advised those applying for sales jobs to be factual in applications following a period of illness, with explanations being concise and to the point.
