Sales recruitment: Internet is the future for jobseekers

More than half of HR and recruitment managers believe the internet is the most efficient way to find new employees, according to one survey which may interest those looking for sales jobs.

A study by Caterer.com showed that 53 per cent of recruitment bosses firmly believe the web is the future for finding the best applicants, with traditional forms of advertising falling out of favour.

Marketing manager for the website Jonathan Hedger said: "We are increasingly seeing companies in the hospitality industry adopt the internet as their key source of recruitment."

He added that the research shows recruiters value the quality of candidates they can access on the internet and are able save money when using the web to recruit.

In order to impress a company once they have been spotted through online recruitment, potential employees can increase their chances of getting hired by becoming involved in volunteering projects, according to the charity Time Bank.
