Summit could help bolster sales jobs
An employment summit which will be attended by politicians, union bosses and business figures could help bring ideas to the fore that may bolster Scottish sales jobs.
The event was agreed at a meeting in Glasgow involving SNP leader Alex Salmond, Scottish secretary Jim Murphy and union representatives.
Scottish TUC general secretary Grahame Smith said: "We agreed that [we] would host a summit before the end of the year on the issue of employment and unemployment."
He added that the group decided that the event would focus on the current measures which have been put in place to improve the employment market and also look at ways the situation can be made better in the future.
Jim Murphy said that the main aim will be to make sure that the current generation of young Scots does not get "left behind".
In other news, British jobseekers are to be given priority for UK sales jobs under new measures that the government is going to implement next year.
