Sales jobs: UK employment market is on the rise
People looking for sales jobs may be more optimistic after new figures revealed that the number of people finding permanent roles has risen for the first time in almost a year-and-a-half.
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG Report on Jobs also showed that people going for temporary sales jobs were more successful in August as well.
Bernard Brown, head of business services at KPMG, said: "This is the first time we have seen really positive news for the UK jobs market in 17 months. However, it is too early to speculate whether this signals the end of the recession."
Seeing how the public sector responds to the current economic downturn is going to be a key factor if the current resurgence in the UK jobs sector is going to continue, according to Mr Brown.
Richard Doherty, group vice president of solutions and marketing at Jobpartners, recently said that UK companies need to learn from their previous mistakes if they are to continue to recover during the recession.
