Sales professionals 'are a well-educated bunch'
Nearly half of all people in sales jobs have been educated to at least higher national certificate and degree level, according to new industry research.
Aaron Wallis' State of Sales in the UK 2009 report shows that 44 per cent of the total respondents were educated past college or degree level, with six per cent also having a masters degree to their name.
One quarter of all those in sales jobs only had GCSEs to their name, while a further 18 per cent just had A-levels as their main qualification.
The report also showed that those with a masters degree were the most likely to be unemployed. Over 40 per cent of respondents with a masters were currently looking for a job, while 36 per cent were in full time employment.
However, people who were educated to degree level or above made up the majority of those who were currently now working as a sales manager or an account manager.
