Preparation 'key to job interviews'

People need to turn up to their sales recruitment interviews well-prepared, according to an expert.

Rebecca Corfield, author of Knockout Job Interview Presentations, told the Guardian that once a CV has made it through the masses of applications then the job is there to be won.

She added that even if a person is not successful, there is value in performing to the best of their ability as a rejected but impressive candidate is often the first to be called back next time a position comes up.

"If you want to convince a recruiter you are right for the role, then obviously you should first be clear in your own mind why you are right for the role," she said.

Ms Corfield also commented that people should not let nerves affect them, stating that sales recruitment hopefuls should "stand tall, breathe deeply and concentrate".

James Caan, entrepreneur and Dragon's Den star, recently told the Independent that confidence is the key to a successful interview.
